I founded Younger Design in 2018. During the preceding 13 years I drew house plans as part of my drafting job at Ruidoso Land Survey. At the time I was hired, my employer occasionally drew house for local contractors. I took over this job and expanded it to include custom home designs for customers ranging from first time family homes to large weekend getaways.
Coming to architectural drafting from land surveying has made accuracy a focus of mine. I appreciate this when it comes time to apply for permits: I rarely have major problems meeting code requirements during plan reviews. I have very good relationships with all of the building inspectors and officials that I've dealt with over the years.
I grew up in New Zealand and, despite an early interest in drafting, I was going to start a career as a biochemist. After I finished a Master of Science degree at Canterbury University I took a trip to Colorado and met my future wife. We've now lived happily in Ruidoso since 2003, and are raising our daughter here.
