A new project engaging young Solomon Islanders to write about Climate Change.
The Solomon Islands is at the forefront of Climate Change. Rising sea levels has already sunk an island in the Solomons and extreme weather is becoming more common.
This project will engage with you, young Solomon Islanders, to write your stories of climate change. These stories will be compiled into a magazine that will be published online, and efforts will be made to get essays published on Solomon Islands, Pacific, and Australian blogs and news outlets.
Aims of the project
Advocate the climate change related concerns of young Solomon Islanders to world’s leaders
Provide an opportunity for young Solomon Islanders to write in English
Provide an opportunity for young Solomon Islanders to have their work published to help with school and job applications.
Instructions to participants
Please write a 500-800 word essay or story about climate change
Learn more about writing good essays here.
This can be a personal story (such as your experiences, fears or ideas about climate change) or a research essay (where you would do research on a climate change topic that you are interested in)
Write in English, we can help with grammar and spelling in thee editing process
You can attach photos and artwork if you want to your submission
