マルチアンビル装置を用いた静的な高温高圧実験や高強度レーザーを用いた衝撃圧縮実験により、GPa（ギガパスカル、一万気圧）からTPa（テラパスカル、1000万気圧）にわたる幅広い条件で、極限環境における物質の振る舞いに関する実験的研究を行っています。超高圧高温下における核・マントル物質の相平衡関係、状態方程式や熱力学特性の決定を通じ、地球の起源や進化過程の解明に向けた研究を進めています。
