The Yorkshire Palaeo Group is an informal network of researchers interested in palaeoecology and palaeoenvironmental change based in Universities across northern England. Anyone interested in past environments is welcome to attend and there is no registration fee. We meet twice a year, sometimes in person and sometimes virtually.

We will meet next in Autumn 2026, at the University of Bradford.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday afternoon, 18th November 2026 and it will be a hybrid event, with attendance possible in person and online. Please email Phil Murgatroyd on P.Murgatroyd@bradford.ac.uk if you wish to present at this meeting.

YPG meetings are friendly and informal gatherings that are ideal venues to hear about research going on in all disciplines related to the palaeoenvironment, including geology, archaeology, botany, biology and anything else that might be of interest. Presenters and attendees cover a wide range of specialisms and levels of experience, from students to staff and independent researchers. Previous topics have included dinosaurs in Brazil, submerged landscapes under the North Sea and aeolian landforms in Yorkshire.
