I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Kyoto University. Before joining Kyoto University, I worked as a Project Assistant Professor / Research Associate in the Department of Global Agricultural Sciences at the University of Tokyo. My research examines how agricultural production and natural resource management shape local development and social stability, with a particular focus on civil conflict. I am especially interested in how improvements in health, gender equality, and economic opportunities can contribute to building more peaceful and resilient societies.
