Yoga Fitness, led by yoga instructor and owner Erica Boos, RYT, was formed in 2004 and serves Milwaukee's Northshore communities of Glendale, Fox Point, Bayside and Mequon. She is also contracted with Nicolet Recreation Department programming. She teaches gentle vinyasa flow-style yoga with a welcoming approach to cultivate self discovery and compassion - to restore mind/body balance, strength and improved range of motion. Her class formatting is appropriate for any body, physical shape and flexibility - for those new to yoga or continuing their practice. Her yoga vibe is warm, non-competitive, and easy-going for everyone to feel successful, invigorated and nourished - to discover and celebrate what feels good in the body and soul.
Erica is a Yoga Alliance registered teacher drawing from 200+hours of YogaFit training and workshops with renowned masters including Ana Forrest, Beth Shaw, Seane Corne, Lilias Foran and Therapeutic Yoga with Meg Logan - and finds inspiration in nature and taking in the fluid beauty of Lake Michigan as often as possible. She found yoga as a new mom in 2000 and began teacher training to share the love she found - but really believes yoga found her and showed her the path to real self care and discovery.
Never been to a yoga class or it's been a while? Have an injury or any physical limitations? No problem, modifications are always offered for you to practice safely and confidently. Participants are always encouraged to listen to and honor their own bodies - and will never be pushed aggressively or out of bounds for you. And you are always welcome to try a drop-in first to see if it's right for you.
The mind-body-spirit benefits of yoga are truly endless. Participants join yoga classes for a wealth of different reasons but ultimately for well being or to compliment other exercise or self care. Practicing yoga every day can help improve flexibility, strength, balance, reducing stress, enhancing mental clarity, and promoting a sense of well being - and even tranquility and peacefulness. Essentially, yoga is a great way to restore balance to your physical body and your mental health as well - think of it as light exercise with a blend of mindful relaxation qualities.
