Participants will explore their identities and gain self awareness, as well as make connections between their identities and historical events.
"Just Us is Blind" by Charly Palmer
Participants will learn and understand common social justice terms as well as learn about various movements that have been led by youth. They will also learn about and practice using power mapping as an organizing tool.
"Irina and Ami/Las Tres Adelitas" by Shizu Saldamando
Participants will learn and practice communication and listening skills. Participants will further get an opportunity to work together and practice advocating for issues affecting a fictional school in a role play.
"Grandmother's Stories" by Leah Dorion
Participants will get an introduction to the mindset and practices that define restorative justice. They will also get the chance to dive deeper into the uses and purpose behind restorative circles and learn how to be an effective circle facilitator.
