Welcome! I am a postdoctoral scholar at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I am working for the Integrated Substance Use and Addiction Programs (ISAP). Prior to this, I received my PhD in economics from Auburn University, and Master of Arts in economics from the University of Virginia (as a Ph.D. student, 8/2017-12/2020). I am on the 2025-2026 job market and will be available for interviews!
My research interests lie in innovation, public economics, and economic history. My current projects center on the interaction between technology and institutions:
How do government regulations/interventions influence the development and diffusion of technologies? What are their impacts on local economic outcomes in turn?
Do (historical) social infrastructure investments shape local economic development?
To what extent do labor institutions affect workers' outcomes and firms' strategies, especially tech choices?
