About five years ago a cat named Flower came into my life during my time working at an animal hospital. She had been found as a stray in poor health diagnosed with renal failure, arthritis and had all her teeth extracted due to infections. During her time at the animal hospital, she underwent extensive high-end care from several award winning vets. However her daily care to maintain comfort included fluid injections pierced through scar tissue, forced feedings, cleaning urine soaked beds and medications with side effects that induced a sedative state. I developed a bond with her and soon adopted her into my life.
At the time, she was 16 and I was told she may only have a year or less left due to her many medical needs. Vets provided me with food that was formulated to help cats in renal failure and claimed to have high quality ingredients along with medication meant to ease arthritic pain. I had trouble getting Flower to eat the food the vets had recommended to me and force feeding a fragile senior cat every meal didn't sit right with me. The medication turned her into a limp-less body for a few hours after dosing each day. My gut feeling wasn't accepting this quality of life for her and I wanted her life to be better. I took it upon myself to research the ingredients of her food and the effects of the medication the vets gave me for Flower. To my surprise, everything I was reading had extensive negative side effects and questionable sourcing. The medication she was prescribed is not recommended for cats in renal failure and the ingredients from the vet recommended food had seriously poor sourcing quality and ingredients. Honestly, I felt very conflicted on the information I had gathered from my research because I had hoped the vets would've given me everything I needed to help Flower feel better but what I had received was not helping her thrive.
I began to look into alternative diets and medicine. Using natural and whole ingredients to create a new diet, Flower underwent a major transformation both internally and externally within a month. The quality of her coat, skin, eyes, joints and overall vitality had been enhanced. I tracked Flower's healing progress by getting her vitals checked and within a year, her kidneys had began to repair themselves. The diet I created for her provided ample amounts of fluid, eliminating the need to use fluid injections to clear out toxins and her mobility had granted her the freedom to run, play and comfortably use the litter box again. Flower's body was healing beyond anyone's imagination. Throughout Flower's life she helped me learn about the healing power of mother nature. I became passionate about helping other dogs and cats with achieving better health by using natural medicine through food to promote internal to external healing. Flower passed away peacefully at age 20 in early 2023. She has granted me extensive wisdom, experience and taught me about unconditional love. Flower's legacy lives on in my life in the form of healing owners and their pets using mother nature and love.
