Ying-Xian Goh

Hi, welcome to my site!

I am a doctoral student in the Charles Edward Via, Jr. Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech. I am also an integral part of the third cohort class in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Education Program in Infectious Disease that is affiliated with the Center for Emerging, Zoonotic, and Arthropod-Borne Pathogens at Virginia Tech.

My primary research interest lies in the field of antimicrobial resistance, specifically the ecological mechanisms underlying the persistence, dissemination, and evolution of antimicrobial resistance within both natural and food-associated environments at the Liao Environmental and Public Health Microbiology (LEAPH) Laboratory. Previously, I worked as a Research Officer at The Malaysian Cohort study, a population-based health cohort study that hosts the largest biobank in Southeast Asia.
