Field Trip to Arsh Vidya Gurukulam, Saylorsburg, PA-Tucked in the foothills of Pocono Mountain this wide open campus offered an uninterrupted view of green fields and the mountain range that helped young learners learn various nomenclatures of natural products such as पहाड़ ( mountain), नदी (river), बरसात (the rainy season), धूप (sunny), मैदान( open field), हरे-भरे खेत ( green field), and use then in sentences. Students were happily surprised when their ‘Nature Walk’ was suddenly interrupted by lashes of rain. The sky was covered by dark clouds and students took shelter under a Gazebo to protect themselves from the pouring rain. The Gazebo offered a 360 degree view of the nature.
Later students interacted with the Ashram Manager Suddhatma ji and the Swami ji, who spoke about virtues of Indian culture. The program ended with an interesting presentation by Pratibha Sane, an artist, who provided interesting insights into Warli Painting. She talked in comprehensible Hindi about the relationships between the simplicity of Warli art and the lives of tribal people who have been illustrating their lives through painting since two millennia. Pratibha invited students to try their hands on canvas. Soon after a long line of young artists emerged.
