Today’s PTA is a network of millions of families, students, teachers, administrators, and business and community leaders devoted to the educational success of children and the promotion of family engagement in schools.
The main goal for the PTA at YHS is to enrich the educational environment with supplemental programs and activities. The PTA helps to provide resources in the form of monetary contributions and volunteered time.
Thanks to parental and community support, some examples of resources the YHS PTA was able to provide in the past include:
-Field Trips paid for 100% for all students
-Educational assemblies
-School Spirit events
-Book Fair
-Spirit Wear
-Agendas and Folders for all students
-Teaching/Admin staff luncheons
-5th grade graduation gifts
-Licenses to Hold Bingo Night/50-50 Raffle/Family Movie Night
-Fun Run
-School Improvement/beautification projects
-Field Day treats
-Ice Skating event
-Pictures with Easter Bunny
-School Dances
-Trunk or Treat
It's important to note that PTA members are not limited to parents and guardians --- anyone who supports your child can support our PTA: grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, etc. PTA Meetings are held monthly throughout the year, usually on the second Thursday of the month at 7 pm
