Our laboratory considers how innate and transit of immune cells and lipoproteins surrounding liver organ affects the liver and metabolic diseases. The liver macrophages, Kupffer cells, are abundant primary immune cells to influence liver inflammations and thus we are focusing on the phenotypic changes of Kupffer cells as well as other immune cells in fatty liver diseases. The trafficking of immune cells and lipoproteins via portal vein and lymphatics are closely related with liver homeostasis. But, these perspectives are completely mystery in the liver fields. In our lab, we are investigating two chronic inflammatory diseases including fatty liver and intestinal inflammation via studying of gut-liver axis and will find novel therapeutic strategy and candidates to recover inflammatory diseases.
