About the conference
About the conference
The challenge posed by global warming, the destruction of biodiversity and the degradation of natural resources has never been more urgent than it is today, at a time when it is imperative to rethink our development models. Within a global context characterised by initiatives such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and international climate agreements, the emergence of innovative and sustainable solutions has become a necessity concerning all countries without exception.
At the national level, Morocco is actively engaged in this dynamic through its strategies in the fields of the transition towards a low-carbon economy, the sustainable management of resources and environmental protection. Territories, each with their own ecological and socio-economic specificities, remain at the heart of this transformation. The exemplary richness of biodiversity and the diversity of natural heritage perfectly reflect current challenges: reconciling the objectives of economic development, social justice and environmental preservation.
Following the success of the five previous editions of this scientific and environmental event, held annually by the YES GREEN MAROC association, we aim to provide a space for reflection and exchange on concrete ways to adapt our practices, protect our resources and engage the community in genuine change. We are therefore pleased to officially announce the sixth edition of this international conference, under the title "Green Lab. Solutions for Sustainable Development?", to be held on 3–5 December 2026 in Oujda. This edition is structured around six (06) themes, covering a broad range of relevant topics: from the management of geo-resources and territories, to the valorisation of natural resources within a circular economy approach, through renewable energies and advanced materials serving sustainable production, to artificial intelligence applied to environmental and health risk management, and not forgetting the crucial importance of environmental education in mobilising citizens.

As part of this International Conference, a strategic workshop dedicated to co-action will be held on 5 December 2026, in connection with the Info-Energy Climate Cell (CIEC), under the theme: “From Strategy to Citizen Action: CIEC for Participatory Territorial Energy Transition”. The workshop will bring together key institutional, academic, socio-economic and civil society stakeholders to share experiences, discuss operational challenges and co-develop practical recommendations aimed at strengthening participatory territorial action in the fields of energy and climate.
This sixth edition of the conference is conceived as a call to action. In light of the complex challenges of adapting to climate change and the need to ensure sustainable development, it brings together diverse perspectives to propose practical and innovative solutions. By uniting scientists, researchers, policymakers, entrepreneurs and citizens, it aims to build a bridge between science and concrete action, generating a collective momentum capable of transforming our practices towards a sustainable and equitable future.
Under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco is committed to a sustainable and ecologically sound future. This event serves as a collaborative platform for researchers, experts, governmental bodies and civil society to converge and devise tangible solutions to the environmental challenges facing our nation. The event will feature enlightening plenary sessions, engaging panel discussions and insightful presentations from eminent speakers, highlighting scientific breakthroughs and key strategies for cultivating a sustainable future.
In keeping with our commitment to recognising exemplary efforts, the event will honour outstanding solutions within each theme. We extend a warm invitation to scientists, researchers, policymakers, environmental advocates and all concerned stakeholders to join us on 3–5 December 2026, as we collectively champion:
"Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Environmental Practices."
