I am an incoming tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics (BEAM) at Virginia Tech, starting in December 2025. My research interests and expertise bridge biophysics, biology, and engineering to understand how the physical properties of cells influence their behavior in cancer, immunity and microbiome. My lab will focus on developing microfluidic biophysical tools to study molecular and functional heterogeneity, with applications in diagnostics and therapeutic response prediction. In parallel, my lab is advancing single molecule and confocal fluorescence detection technologies to enable multiplexed nucleic acid diagnostics and quantitative biomarker discovery.
I am actively recruiting students and postdocs matriculating in Spring 2025/Fall 2026. More details on these fully-funded positions can be found under the Opportunities page.
