Out of the Blue (2025)
Out of the Blue (2025) is a two-channel video work that explores the everyday experiences of young people living in the diaspora—those who migrated following the 2024 military conscription law. The project is informed by responses collected through a Google Form survey from 38 young immigrants who left their home country for different reasons.
Using synchronized split-screen visuals, the work weaves together these shared testimonies with personal footage recorded during my own life in the diaspora. The two channels operate both independently and in dialogue, creating a layered narrative that moves between collective experience and personal memory.
Across the installation, an emotional landscape unfolds—shaped by longing, uncertainty, and quiet resilience. Each fragment carries the weight of missing home while reflecting my own complex sense of connection and disconnection toward the place I left behind.
