Coordinates of the North Wind is a photography and video project that explores queer bodies in search of identity and belonging while being displaced. This project is shaped by the shared emotions of homesickness, disconnection from homeland, isolation, struggles with depression, personal desires, hopefulness, hopelessness, joyfulness, longing, and the effort to find stability amidst the instability of unfamiliar environments.
This project is developed through collaborations with displaced queer individuals to explore the queer body as a site of memory and refuge—where traces of the past persist while navigating new cultural landscapes, revealing how belonging can be carried internally amid displacement.
