Rabbi Eliyahu Tal is the Rosh Hayeshiva of Yeshivat Midrash David which he founded in 2021. He believes in connecting to each bachur in a personalized way helping him maximize his potential in Torah, Avodat Hashem, and Middot Tovot. In his engaging shiur, bochrim learn how to learn and become fluent in the many concepts of the masechta.
In addition, Rabbi Tal has been the Rabbi of Highland Park's Sephardic congregation, Etz Ahaim since 2020. Before that, he served as the Rav of the Sephardic Community of West Hartford, Connecticut.
Rabbi Tal was born in London and lived most of his life in Israel. He received his semicha from the official Chief Rabbinate of Israel and passed the rabbinical exams with honors. He is also the author of the sefer, Minchat Eliyahu, consisting of varied teshuvot and in-depth chidushim on Masechta Shabbat. In addition, he earned his L.L.B. in law at Ono Academic College, and his Rabbinical Pleader license at the Lander Institution in Israel.
Rabbi Tal is also active in outreach, having created engaging classes and innovative children's programs. He also helps those who are unable to obtain medical equipment. In addition, he is a chazzan, ba’al koreh, shochet, sofer, and ba’al tokeah.
