Rabbi David Rosenthal joined the staff of Yeshivat Midrash David in 2026 where he teaches Gemara, Machshava, and Halacha. Rabbi Rosenthal believes in the importance of an individualized approach, focusing on skill building, critical thinking, and love of Torah. He is known for his ability to explain complex topics in a simple yet exciting way. He also teaches secular studies in the afternoon.
In addition, Rabbi Rosenthal teaches at Yeshivas Maishiv Nafesh in Lakewood, and was a beloved rebbe at Shalom Torah Academy in Marlboro, NJ, where he taught gemara, tefilah, math, English, science, and social studies. He also initiated many educational programs, such as spearheading the school's technology awareness initiative and fluency in reading program.
Rabbi Rosenthal studied in the Manalapan Kollel for 9 years under the leadership of Rav Nochum Kass shlit"a. Previously, he learned for 11 years at Ner Yisrael in Baltimore, where he was ordained a rabbi, enjoyed an especially close relationship with Hagaon Harav Aharon Feldman shlit”a and was a close talmid of Rav Tzvi Berkowitz shlit"a. He was also awarded a PhD in Talmudic Law for his sefer on the Rambam's 14 sheroshim in Sefer Hamitzvos and received a degree from The Johns Hopkins University.
Rabbi Rosenthal is also the Director of an outreach organization, the Manalapan Jewish Connection. He has over 1,000 shiurim online, is the author of Wired for Disaster: How Technology is Ruining our Happiness and Destroying our Minds, Why Open Orthodoxy Is Not Orthodox, and numerous articles.
