Young European Radio Astronomer’s Conference. Continuing a tradition that has rotated between institutions across Europe since the 1960s.
The Young European Radio Astronomers Conference (YERAC; https://yerac.jive.eu/) is an annual conference dedicated to early career researchers in radio astronomy that has existed for over 50 years. YERAC is a unique conference in the landscape of ECR meetings, explicitly set up to bring together young radio astronomers working at European institutes, observatories, laboratories and universities in order to provide them with early opportunities for interactions with peers. Established in 1968, YERAC gives all postgraduate or postdoctoral attendees the opportunity to present their work. For many in the field, this is their first time giving a science presentation on their work to a broader audience. We note here, ‘European’ is used in the broadest sense, encompassing institutions in European nations as well as researchers using European facilities and collaborations (e.g. the European VLBI Network).
This year, the 54th edition of YERAC will be hosted by Astrophysics department of the University of Oxford, held in the Denys Wilkinson Building, Oxford. The Astrophysics department in Oxford is a hub for a wide range of radio astronomy and sits in the heart of Oxford, a university city dating back to the 11th century.
We will also host a day of the conference at Green Templeton College, the historic home of observational astrophysics at the University.
A campus map can be found here.
Thanks to generous support from Breakthrough Listen we hope to hold the conference with no registration fees and we have secured accommodation for all attendees at no cost. Participants and their institutions will have to cover their own transport fees. For participants that require a visas, please register and let us know as soon as possible.
We are able to provide accommodation to all participants for the week (check-in Monday, check-out Friday) at Exeter College's Cohen Quad. We strongly encourage participants to make use of this space as it will reduce their costs and ensure a more complete community feel to the conference by providing informal and formal opportunities to meet your peers. Participants may opt-out of this accommodation by specifying when booking and will then need to source their own accommodation for the duration of the meeting.
To get here, it is easiest to fly into London Heathrow or London Gatwick and get the regular bus to the centre of Oxford (Gloucester Green Bus Station). This takes typically less than 1hr30 from Heathrow and less than 3hrs from Gatwick.
The Denys Wilkinson Building, Green Templeton College and and Exeter College's Cohen Quad are all approximately a 5-15 minute walk from the bus station.

Code of conduct
The below is from a previous YERAC page. We will ensure an appropriate code of conduct over the next few months.
The event planners are committed to fostering a constructive and welcoming atmosphere for every participant. Consequently, we have embraced the Code of Conduct employed by ESO for their workshops and conferences; see Code of Conduct for a complete description. It is our anticipation that all attendees will respect and adhere to these guiding principles throughout the duration of the YERAC event.
