I have partnered with multiple Asian American communities and community-based organizations, and provided pro bono consulting on various policy change projects since 2010. I am also committed to writing about social issues for public as well as communicating the research findings back to the communities. Here are few examples.
STOP AAPI HATE
I am currently working as a data consultant for STOP AAPI HATE, a University-community collaboration documenting the hate incidents against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
Chinatown Redistricting
I worked on the redistricting project as a political cartographer to consolidate Chinatown of Chicago into one political district - in partnership with Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community and Chinese American Service League (testimony)
Research & Policy Reports
Communicating the findings back to the communities is critical. For this effort, I write the research/policy reports.
