INTRODUCTION

In our ever more interconnected world, it is critical to cherish and preserve our cultural heritage. London, a melting pot of cultures, finds its vibrant heart in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, home to many embassies and ambassadorial residences.

The Young Diplomats in London (YDL) is proud to present a charity event titled "Weaving International Fashion – National Dress Catwalk". The concept for this event originated during a meeting between the Executive Committee of YDL and Cllr Preety Hudd, Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Cllr Dori Schmetterling, Deputy Mayor. Both the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor graciously extend their support to this event and will be our guests of honour.

This captivating fashion show celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of our community, showcasing the artistry and storytelling woven into the national dress of various countries. Each ensemble serves as a window into a nation's heritage, fostering understanding and appreciation between our diplomatic and local communities.

This event supports The Felix Project, a charity dedicated to rescuing surplus food and feeding those in need in the UK, and The Kids for Kids, a charity that provide sustainable solutions to the starvation and poverty faced by children in Darfur, Sudan.

This event marks the inauguration of what promises to become an annual tradition.
