Cyber Security & Digital Empowerment Drive (17th January – 12th February 2025)
It was an honor to participate in the CAWACH Drive (Cybersecurity Awareness and Creative Handholding Kendra), a significant initiative aimed at promoting cyber hygiene, cybersecurity awareness, and digital empowerment among students.
From 17th January to 12th February 2025, awareness sessions were conducted across 17 departments of MK Bhavnagar University, focusing on educating students about cyber hygiene, cybercrime prevention, and end-user security measures to mitigate cyber-attacks.
Team Formation and Activities:
Under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Dilip Barad Barad, Head of the Department of English, two teams were constituted to carry out the drive effectively:
Team A:
Faculty: Ms. Prakruti Bhatt (Department of English)
Students: Dhatri Parmar, Jatin Varu, and Jay Solanki
Team B:
Faculty: Ms. Megha Trivedi (Department of English)
Students: Yashraj Sodha, Aakash Chavda, and Hiral Vaitha
The awareness sessions were organized systematically, with each team visiting the departments on alternate days. During the sessions:
One student served as a co-presenter alongside the faculty member.
The remaining team members were responsible for photography and recording attendance of the participants.
The sessions provided students with valuable insights into cyber hygiene practices, types of cybercrimes, and preventive measures to ensure digital safety.
About CAWACH (Cybersecurity Awareness and Creative Handholding Kendra):
The CAWACH Kendra is a key initiative of the Government of Gujarat, launched under the Education Department in collaboration with the Home Department.
It aims to:
Promote awareness of cyber hygiene, cybercrime, and cybersecurity.
Educate students on end-user security measures to prevent cyber-attacks.
Empower youth with digital literacy and responsible online behavior.
Cyber Rakshak Natya Utsav – 17th February 2025
The event featured four theatrical performances on the theme of Digital Awareness, presented by students from various colleges. In which 2 Skits from GEC, 1 from Parekh Arts and Science college Mahuva, Bhavnagar and 1 from SMT. N.C. Gandhi and B.V. Gandhi Mahila Arts and Commerce College were performed. In which first rank was secured by GEC, Second rank was secured by GMC and third rank was secured by Parekh college. These performances creatively conveyed messages related to cybersecurity, digital literacy, and responsible online behavior.
The best drama presentation was selected to represent MK Bhavnagar University at the state level. Certificates of participation were distributed to all performers.
Along with this event, felicitation was also done, where all faculty members and students who were part of CAWACH drive were honored with certificates and cheques by the university in recognition of their contributions.
