PhD students

Gurpreet Kaur

Gurpreet earned her Master’s degree in Chemistry at SGTB Khalsa College, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Punjab (affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala) in 2016. She is currently working as a Teacher, Education Department, Punjab. She joined the group in August 2021 as a Part-time PhD student.

Pruthviraj Bundel

Pruthviraj earned his MS (Pharm) degree in Medicinal Chemistry at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali in 2021 and joined our group as a PhD student at the Department of Chemistry in August 2021. He was selected for the DST-INSPIRE Fellowship in August 2022 and working on bioconjugates for therapeutic applications.

Yashika Thakur

Yashika earned her MSc degree in chemistry at the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, in 2019. She qualified the GATE Examination in March 2019 and CSIR NET JRF in February 2021. She joined the PhD Program at the Department of Chemistry in August 2021.

Ankit Vashisth

Ankit earned his MSc in Biotechnology from the Centre for Biotechnology, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana. He qualified the GATE examination in 2021 and CSIR-UGC NET (JRF) in February 2022. He joined the PhD program at the biomedical engineering department in July 2022 (co-advisor: Dr. Durba Pal, DBME).

Saurav Roy

Saurav qualified the GATE (Biotechnology) in 2021 and earned his MSc (Biotechnology) degree at the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Trivandrum. He joined the PhD Joint Degree Program of IIT Mandi and IIT Ropar in chemical science in July 2024 (primary advisor: Dr. Garima Agrawal, School of Chemical Sciences, IIT Mandi).

Shikha Pathania

Shikha earned her MSc degree in chemistry at the Maharaja Agrasen University, Solan, HP in 2019. She qualified the GATE examination in chemistry in 2024, and joined the PhD program at the chemistry department in July 2024.

Keerti Chanana

Keerti earned her M.Sc. Degree in chemistry at the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab in 2025 and qualified the GATE examination in chemistry in February 2025. She joined the PhD program at the chemistry department in July 2025.

Mankomal Kaur Brar

Mankomal earned her MSc in biochemistry at the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda in 2024 and qualified the GATE XL examination in February 2024. She joined the group in October 2024 as a JRF on a DST/GITA- India-Taiwan project.

Alam Baham

Alam earned his Bachelor’s degree at the North Eastern Hill University, Shillong, Meghalaya. He qualified IIT-JAM 2024 and joined the MSc (Chemistry) program IIT Ropar in July 2024. He joined the group for his MSc minor thesis research in July 2025.
