One of the essential things a company should have right from the get-go is a computer. For small business owners, looking for the right computer is key, especially if it'll be the only computer in the company.
Yas Aloosy breaks down some of the important considerations for entrepreneurs when it comes to purchasing the company's first piece of computer hardware.
Purpose: The first thing business owners should ask is what they need the computer for. What will it do? Will it only be for creating documents and doing accounting? Or will it be used for more complex work such as video editing and Web development? If a more robust computer is needed, experts recommend ones that have 8GB of RAM. Solid-state drive (SSD) computers are also a good choice for heavy computing.
Storage space: Will the PC need to store large files such as videos and sound files? Or will it only store documents and images at most? If it's the former, business owners should also consider investing in external drives in which to save the bigger files.
Mobility: Sometimes, business owners have to move around or even go outside their offices to meet up with clients. Because of this, they need a mobile computer. There are several great laptop brands out there. Some entrepreneurs even choose to go with tablets. However, Yas Aloosy adds that for menial work in offices, laptops are better compared to tablets.
