In this project, I will provide information on how social media impacts people and myself in both positive and negative ways.
After taking the “AM I ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA?” QUIZ I realized I used social media way too much! The results stated: You're fairly reliant on social media, but there are far worse culprits! Still, it's good to be reminded that UK adults spend an average of 8 hrs 41 mins on screens every day, and 4 hours of that on smartphone apps alone (mainly social media). That's about a third of each day checking apps. Do you need to rethink your social media habits and the amount of time you spend scrolling?
In the articles provided, the most interesting statistic was the difference in ages among those using these sites. In some ways, this is related to my own behavior.
Social media is influencing society in both positive and negative ways, in my opinion. In a positive way, you are able to communicate with your family and friends who live in other countries. Due to my living in another country but still being able to communicate with my family and friends in my country, social media is helpful for me. It causes mental health problems, eye problems, and being unsocial, which negatively affects you. In my experience, staying too long and not doing anything but watching things hurts my eyes and leaves my work undone, causing me to miss my deadline. Even though social media has some positive aspects, it can also lead to negative results.
I learned that I spend too much time on social media and this affects my sight and makes me lazy and not do my work.
