About me
I am Yanshuo Sun, an Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering in the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, which is a joint engineering program between Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Florida State University (FSU). As a faculty member in the joint college, I enjoy full privileges to conduct teaching, research and service at both universities. Prior to my relocation to Tallahassee, FL in 2018, I was a Research Scientist and the Director of Research Program at the National Transportation Center at the University of Maryland, College Park. I earned my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2016.
My overall research objective is to narrow the gap between the research community and the practitioners’ world, through the application of mathematical modeling and optimization methods, in order to improve the planning, operations, and management of transportation systems. I am fascinated with a broad range of research topics and have strong track records in several core areas of transportation, including public transportation, freight transportation, airports, transportation economics, and transportation data analytics. Within this site, you can find my research project experiences, publication record, teaching experience, and professional services.
