The "Edge" Program: for women accepted into a graduate program in mathematics
Post A.B. Program for Women at Smith College This program is for women with bachelor's degrees who did not major in mathematics or whose mathematics major was light. This program is open to all women with a serious interest in pursuing a higher degree in the mathematical sciences. Successful applicants will have completed at least Linear Algebra and Vector Calculus before enrolling in our program. The program is designed to make you "graduate school ready" in one year.
UNL Undergraduate Conference for Women in Mathematics (University of Nebraska - Lincoln) Women majoring in mathematics are encouraged to think about possibly attending the annual Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The conference is held each year in late January. It usually attracts over 250 students from about 100 different schools across the United States and parts of Canada. It is the premier conference of its kind and several undergraduate women from WU have attended in the past. All of them reported that it was a very good experience: read some of their comments here. Our Department may be able to help with travel expenses. Contact Dr. Blake Thornton very early in September if you think you might be interested. Conference registration begins on October 1, and the available space fills up fast --meaning: in a few days!
American Association of University Women offers graduate fellowships and grants in selected professions where women's participation has traditionally been low.
