Urban Analytics & Planning Lab

The Urban Analytics & Planning Lab (UAP Lab) conducts research that diagnoses urban problems through spatial big data analysis and provides planning implications from the interdisciplinary perspectives encompassing economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Within the UAP Lab, we analyze and study cities across various spatial scales, ranging from parcel-based spatial units to intercity comparisons. Our focus lies in evidence-based research, utilizing  quantitative and qualitative analysis, along with the application of rapidly developing machine learning algorithms. By conducting research that supports the decision-making process in planning, the UAP Lab aims to contribute to broadening academic horizons in the field of urban planning and fostering the creation of a sustainable society.

도시분석 및 계획 연구실(Urban Analytics & Planning Lab)은 공간빅데이터 분석을 통해 다양한 도시 문제를 진단하고, 경제, 사회, 환경분야의 학제간 연구를 통해 지속가능한 도시에 관한 시사점을 제시하는 연구를 수행합니다. UAP 연구실에서는 필지 기반의 공간 단위부터 도시 간 비교에 이르기까지 다양한 공간적 스케일에서 도시를 분석하고 연구합니다. 또한, 정량적 또는 정성적 연구방법론에 기초하여 실증연구를 수행하며, 최근 빠르게 발전하고 있는 기계학습 알고리즘을 활용합니다. UAP 연구실은 공간빅데이터에 기반하여 도시계획 분야의 의사결정과정을 지원함으로써 궁극적으로 지속가능한 도시를 조성하는 데 기여하는 것을 목표로 합니다.
