Dr. Yana Safonova's lab at Penn State University develops computational tools for comparative and personalized immunogenomics and studies adaptive immune systems and responses.
We analyze antibody and T-cell repertoires, as well as germline immunoglobulin and T-cell receptor loci in humans, model organisms, agricultural animals, endangered species, and disease reservoirs using modern biotechnologies. We develop tools for analysis of immunogenomics sequencing data to reveal patterns of susceptibility to diseases within and across populations and study the evolution of adaptive immunity.
