Dr. Yana Safonova's lab develops computational approaches for comparative and personalized immunogenomics and studies adaptive immune systems and responses. We analyze adaptive immune genes, loci, and repertoires in humans, model organisms, agricultural animals, endangered species, and disease reservoirs using modern biotechnologies. We develop tools for analysis of immunogenomics sequencing data to reveal patterns of susceptibility to diseases within and across populations and study the evolution of adaptive immunity.
