About the Conference

The Third Conference of Young Applied Mathematicians in Siena is organized by PhD students and postdocs from University of Pavia, University of Siena, IDSIA, and University of Bath in the topics of Applied Mathematics. In particular, the conference targets Master's students, PhD students, and postdocs interested in the fields of Numerical Modelling, Numerical Analysis, Machine Learning and Statistics.

Every conference day will be opened by a plenary talk that will be given by senior lecturers. The remainder of the session is dedicated to the participants, who are strongly encouraged to present their research projects or activities as short or long presentations. To allow everyone to talk, two parallel tracks will be organized.

The Conference of Young Applied Mathematicians in Siena would like to make its contribution to the support of women in the natural sciences. We will therefore do our best to have a quota of 50% female speakers and hereby encourage female researchers in particular to apply to hold a class or give a presentation.
