HOW TO GET TO SIENA
The airports closest to Siena, in order of proximity, are located in Florence, Pisa, and Rome. There are efficient public transportation options, such as buses and trains, available from all three cities to Siena.
From Florence, there is the shuttle bus, which departs from outside the airport and takes passengers to the main train station Santa Maria Novella. Both buses and trains to Siena leave from here.
By bus, the recommended option is the “Rapida” bus, line 131R, as it is a non-stop service between Florence and Siena, taking approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. You arrive in Siena at Piazza Gramsci/Viale Tozzi, which is closer to the center than the train station in Siena.
By train, there are two trains per hour, one of which is direct and takes 1 hour and 30 minutes, while the other requires a train change in Empoli and takes 1 hour and 45 minutes.
From Pisa, the bus leaves directly from the airport and makes a stop and bus change in Florence, taking approximately 2.5 hours in total.
By train, the PisaMover shuttle bus takes passengers to the main Pisa train station (It leaves every 10 minutes from the airport and the trip takes 8 minutes), and trains leave approximately two times per hour to Siena, with a change in Empoli and a total journey time of 1 hour and 50 minutes.
From Rome, the bus and train options both leave from Roma Tiburtina. The bus ride to Siena takes 2 hours and 45 minutes.
By train, the journey is less frequent and involves a change in Chiusi, taking between 3 and 4 hours.
HOW TO GET TO THE VENUE
San Niccolò building, Via Roma 56
From the train station
The train station is at the bottom of a hill in Siena, so to get to the historical center you might want to catch a bus to Viale Tozzi/Piazza Gramsci.
The San Niccolò building can be easily accessed on foot from Piazza Antonio Gramsci in approximately 15 minutes. To get there, simply follow the signs pointing towards Piazza del Campo, and once you arrive, proceed straight ahead on Via Pantaneto for an additional 10 minutes
* There is also a mobile escalator from the train station area that takes up the hill to Via Vittorio Emanuele II which is near Porta Camollia. You can take that street all the way to the center, right behind Piazza del Campo and then, proceed on Via Pantaneto for 10 minutes to the venue.
