The error codes are a little unusual with Siemens washing machines there’s a variety of numbers and they don’t all follow a simple numerological sequence. Let’s take a look at each of the error code numbers in more detail.
Error 01 and 17– These error codes mean there has been a water level error detected in the washing machine, you should check the supply hoses and filters to make sure it’s not a simple block or hose kink. While it might be relatively easy to fix more complicated issues will need the assistance of a professional.
Error 02 – This means there’s an issue with the heater in the appliance, checking this will usually require a multi-meter so it’s something best left to a professional.
Error 09 – This error code means unexpected heating has been detected in the washing machine, again this is something that could have numerous causes and should only be properly checked by someone with experience. So, if you see this error code call in our professional team for assistance.
Error 03 and 18 – These error codes mean your appliance can’t drain properly, this problem again could take numerous forms but will most often be caused by debris blocking the pump or filter. So, you might be able to correct this issue yourself, but if you’re unsure what the cause is or not confident then call in a technician for help.
Error 04, 05, 21, 42, 43 and 44 – Motor error codes come in a variety of numbers as you can see. The cause of this error can take many forms including excessive wear, damage or corrosion to the wires. Calling in a professional technician to fix any of these errors is the only way to get them safely fixed.
Error 06 and 07 – This means there is a problem with the NTC sensor in your appliance this could be because the sensor is defective or due to its connections. Once again calling in a technician is the best way to fix this issue.
Error 08, 16 and 34 – These codes all relate to the door of your washing machine, this might sound bad, but the good news is fixing this problem can sometimes be very easy. If the door latch or catch is damaged or blocked, then that could be causing the problem.
However, if your door lock is electrical or you can’t spot any issues with the catch or latch then it could be a more complicated issue that will require professional assistance to fix. The issue could also be internal or due to a bad connection so call in our repair engineers if you’re unsure.
Error 10 – This error means your appliance as detected a problem with the internal communication in your machine. This will usually be down to an electrical or wiring problem between your appliances module and motor. While you can usually inspect the wiring yourself this is really something that should be carried out by a professional technician.
Sometimes washing machines can have their own technical hiccups where they experience errors for no known reason. By resetting the error, you may be able to wipe it from the machine, this is also something that should be done if an existing error is fixed as well. Follow the simple steps below to reset an error.
Turn the dial to the off position, in some machines this is known as the rest position.
Then turn the dial to the half-way point, this would be the 6 o’clock position on a traditional clock face.
Then press and hold the spin button, while also moving the dial to the 7 o’clock position.
Continue to hold the spin button for at least five more seconds then move the dial back to the off/ reset position.
Finally turn the machine back on and the error code should be cleared.
Remember if you are having trouble with any error codes that you can’t get rid of or identify the cause of then we are ready to help.

Is there an error message EF0 or EFO on the display? This can have several causes. The drain filter may be clogged. Clean and replace the filter. You can find this filter on the front of your washing machine, at the bottom right behind a flap. Don't forget to have a towel or cup handy. It's also possible that you've used too much detergent, so there's too much foam in the machine. Start a program with an empty drum without detergent at 60°C. Finally, check whether there is enough water coming out of the tap.
Error message EH0 or EHO indicates that something is wrong with the power supply. First check if another device is working on this outlet. Is this not the case? If so, something is wrong with the installation at your home. Is another device functioning properly? If so, unplug your washing machine from the power outlet and wait 30 seconds. Next, plug in the power cord again. Try to switch on the washing machine, choose a washing program and press start.
When you see E10, C1 or F1 on the display, the washing machine doesn't get enough water. Open the tap fully and then close it. To be safe, place a towel under the supply hose and remove the plug from the socket. Disconnect the supply hose from the tap and clean the filter. After cleaning, reconnect the supply hose and the plug. Turn on the tap again. Also check that there is no kink in the hose. Is the hose broken? If so, connect a new one.
With an error message E20, your AEG washing machine doesn't drain the water. The drum may be full of water. This may be due to a clogged drain filter or another problem with the drain. Open the flap at the front of the washing machine at the bottom right. Remove the filter and clean it. Next, replace the filter. Check that there is no kink in the drain hose. Also make sure the drain hose is no higher than 1 meter above the washing machine. Otherwise the washing machine must pump the water up too far.
Your AEG washing machine displays the error message E30, C3 or beeps 3 times because water is leaking. First check whether the supply hose is well-attached on both sides. Another cause may be that laundry is stuck in the door. This leaks water into the bottom drawer from the front. Remove the washing machine from the water and electricity supply and place a towel on the back. Tilt the device back slightly and hold this position for 40 seconds. Lower the washing machine to the floor and reconnect it.
If error message E40 occurs or the washing machine beeps or blinks 4 times, there is a problem with the door lock. The door may not be closed properly. Press this until you hear a click and restart the washing program. It's also possible that laundry is stuck between the door. Is the drum very full? Another cause may be that something has to be removed. In the most extreme case, the door lock is broken and a technician is required to replace it.
Error message E90 indicates that there is a fault with the circuit board. This is a plate on which all wiring is attached. Turn off the washing machine and unplug the power cord. Test if the device works again when you switch it on again.
