DRP Türkiye

What is this program? 

-The Directed Reading Program (DRP) Türkiye is an independent, online project run by volunteer graduate students and young researchers. The program pairs undergraduate students studying mathematics at universities in and around Türkiye with graduate students and young researchers at institutions around the world to work together on selected books or articles in mathematics.

2023 Program:

During this project, we studied coding theory with my mentee between these dates July 3 - September 1, 2023. We specifically focused on error-correcting codes and quantum error-correcting codes. Our aim in this project is to understand the mentioned codes with an undergraduate student and to provide the student with the concepts of making presentations and writing reports after our readings.

2024 Program:

In this project,  our main aim is able to provide an overview of coding theory. Additionally, we give some basic information of linear codes, including their generator and parity-check matrices and also we try to understand the definition of the dual codes of any codes family. Finally, in this direction we give an example to explain the relationship between the binary Hamming code family and the Reed-Muller code family via the dual code, known in the literature.
