Refugee Resettlement Program

Following the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in August 2021, an influx of Afghan refugees arrived in the DC area looking to rebuild their lives in the United States. As the daughter of two refugees who were forced out of Afghanistan more than 30 years ago, I understood the struggle all too well. I launched my Refugee Resettlement Program, which offers weekly ESL classes for Afghan refugees and tutoring services for youth, utilizing my knowledge of Dari and Afghan culture, to support individuals in my community.
