The Yale Area Football League (YAFL) has been teaching, guiding and supporting the children in our community for 20 years. The Yale Area Football and Cheer program is a non-profit organization 501(c)3 whose goal is to provide quality recreation and skill development in the game of football and sport of cheer, for all area youth ages 6-12. We currently have over 100 participants for the upcoming season.
Yale Area Football League Mission:
Bringing our youth closer together through common interest in sportsmanship and competition.
Instill the values of education and importance of behaving at school.
Acquaint the players with the fundamentals of the game rules; agility, teamwork, blocking, tackling, accountability and more.
Teach sportsmanship; build character, self-esteem, discipline and love of the game.
Encourage the players to maintain satisfactory grades in school and to emphasize the importance of keeping a proper relationship and balance between scholastic and athletic endeavors.
Building pride in our community by encouraging our participants and graduates to volunteer.
In November of 2019 YAFL made the move from the Thumb Area Football League to the Hometown Football League.
