We have three demands in the UK:

Tell the truth

Government must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for change.

Act Now

Government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.

Beyond Politics

Government must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly* on climate and ecological justice.

*See below for links to an explanation of Citizens Assemblies

*If you are not familiar with Citizen's Assemblies and how they operate:  In 2019 six UK House of Commons select committees (not the Government) set up a Citizens' Assembly to find out what members of the Public would recommend the Government to do in order  to get to its "Net Zero Green House Gas emissions by 2050" target.   A description of the process  by which the 108 assembly members took part and the report that resulted is at the House of Commons UK Climate Assembly  web site.  An independent  documentry, the People v Climate Change,   followed some of the participants throughout the process and is available on BBC iPLAYER  andYoutube.   Links to these are  at the Green buttons below
