Extended Reality (XR) is a comprehensive term that encompasses Virtual Reality (VR) as well as its derivatives, Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR). Its primary objective is to deliver computer-generated virtual experiences that closely resemble those encountered in the physical world.
At the Extended Reality & Human–Computer Interaction Laboratory, we conduct research on enhancing users’ sense of presence in virtual environments and developing techniques for natural and intuitive interaction with virtual objects and spaces. In addition, we explore applied uses of XR technologies, including remote collaboration and service support systems utilizing digital humans and telepresence.
