Research Assistants
I am currently recruiting highly motivated and responsible students to join my research group as Research Assistants through the Focused Research Extended Experience (FREE) Program at the Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI). [Find out more about the FREE program here.] Selected students will contribute to ongoing projects in driver-automation interaction and eco-driving behavior within intelligent transportation systems. This is an excellent opportunity to engage in cutting-edge human factors research, develop hands-on research skills and experience, and prepare for future academic opportunities such as graduate study and international research programs.
Main responsibilities include:
Designing and preparing behavioral and simulation-based experiments
Conducting user studies to collect high-quality experimental data
Performing data preprocessing and analysis
Assisting in the development of cognitive or predictive models
Literature review
Contributing to academic publications and reports
Desired qualifications include:
A Bachelor's degree (or above) in Engineering, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field
Technical competence in empirical research, such as experimental design and statistical analysis
Proficiency in reading academic literature and writing in English
(Preferred) Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Human factors or usability research
Programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R, SPSS)
Use of eye-tracking tools, fNIRS, driving simulators, or VR systems
Machine learning or data modeling techniques
