We are currently seeking motivated undergraduate and graduate students for projects exploring materials from the atomic to macro scales. If you’re interested, send us an email or come say hi!
We focus on the development of new material solutions to meet stringent service demands for future applications that will provide energy savings, emissions reductions, safety improvements, and other benefits. As a student in our group, you will have the opportunity to work with additive manufacturing, arc melting, solid-state synthesis, and thin film deposition, to create innovative metals, ceramics, and composites. Additionally, you will operate state-of-the-art material characterization and testing equipment such as SEM, TEM, FIB, and in-situ nanomechanical test systems. If you enjoy hands-on experimental work, our group will be an ideal fit for you. Moreover, having basic coding skills (Python, MATLAB,...) is a plus for data processing.
