IPLC Photography Contest — Games in the Lusophone World
Do you see games everywhere? In the streets, in your family, in your culture, in your memories?
The XIII Illinois Portuguese Language Connection invites Portuguese language students from UChicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to submit a photograph that captures their relationship — real or imagined, passionate or ambivalent — with games in the Lusophone world.
Your photograph can explore any kind of game — football, capoeira, board games, children's play, street games, video games, traditional games from Brazil, Portugal, Cape Verde, Angola, or any Portuguese-speaking community. What matters is your perspective.
Please note:
- Your photograph must be original and taken by you;
- It could have been taken anywhere in the world;
- You do not need to appear in the image, but you can if you prefer;
- Color and size editing are allowed, but the content of the image must not have been partially or fully edited by you or with the assistance of Artificial Intelligence;
- Your image must be accompanied by a written caption in Portuguese.
Theme: Games in the Lusophone World.
Who can participate: Students enrolled in Portuguese language courses at UChicago, Northwestern, or UIUC.
