Though there might be many wolves of note, Legends go beyond species. Bears, cougars, even incredible elk. They were creatures of Olde, born of the same power of Xiaya with the drive to become what they so desired, just as Xiaya had so long ago. These creatures are seen as great boons but also great challenges gifted by Xiaya in order to achieve greatness.
The Dred
A massive shapeless monster said to lurk in the caves beneath the mountain.
One of the longest standing legends in Xiaya, The Dred is now thought to be a tale invented to scare pups and teach the pack not to venture into the tunnels beneath Inferno’s Sanctuary.
Vex the Quiet
A mischievous fox that steal pups, sight unseen, in the night.
Pup season is cherished in Xiaya, and so when pups went missing night after night one season, the pack grew worried. The only sign of their missing pups? The stale scent of fox the very next morning. Unseen. Unheard. The fox terrorized Xiaya all season, and was never seen again. Whenever a pup goes missing, Xiayan’s blame Vex the Quiet.
The Wraith
Lurking on a misty morning, a startling black elk with red eyes.
Xiayan’s are a superstitious folk, so when a mysterious black elk seemed to come and go with the mist, nothing was thought at first—until the packmate was trampled during the hunt. The next sighting? An unexpected illness swept the pack. Another? A cave in at the whelping den. Thought to be bad luck, The Wraith appeared in the morning mists to warn of misfortune. If the creature is sighted, it is thought death lurks.
Trick the Deadly
With vicious claws and deadly fangs, a cougar with more than force.
The large cat once roamed the hills surrounding Xiaya territory. Said to be more than powerful, this cat lured pups to their deaths down gullies, over ravines or a cliff’s edge. Using cunning over strength, the deadly cougar lured a dozen yearlings before it was thought to be chased off for good.
The Requiem
The Blessed Elk.
An albino elk with bloody antlers is said to roam Xiayan territory. Respected by all, this elk is never hunted or approached. It appears quite the opposite of The Wraith, thought to bring fortune to the day.

Xiaya (z-i-ya)
God of Fire, King of Infernos and Bringer of the Apocalypse.
Xiaya is the God worshiped and venerated by the wolves of Xiaya.
Xiayan (z-i-yan)
To be of Xiaya, born of Xiaya, a wolf of Xiayan territory.
Xiayanite (z-i-ya-nite)
A wolf of Xiaya.
Mortal Plane
The earthly plane and the Starlit Horizon.
Xiaya’s Fame
The volcano that Xiaya broke free of a great mountain.
Conclave
Former Council of Xiaya led by the Head of each Order. The Conclave was the leading force that ousted the original All Mother from power, in complete opposition to Xiaya’s wishes.
All Mother
Leader of Pack Xiaya, reincarnation of the Mother of Xiaya. Spiritual successor chosen by the Assembly and gifted with the memories of the All Mother.
