Fellowship Opportunities

* GRFP is for Y1 or Y2 graduate students pursuing a research-based Master’s or Ph.D. program in a GRFP-supported field. 

*For the first-year graduate student  pursuing a degree in atmospheric sciences or related sciences (Students with Masters degree are not eligible).

*The ASP GVP is designed to provide NSF NCAR staff opportunities to bring graduate students to NSF NCAR for 3 to 12-month collaborative visits with the endorsement of their thesis advisors and in pursuit of their thesis research.

*The WINGS Fellowship is designed for Ph.D. candidates who have completed their required coursework, and are in the beginning stages of writing a dissertation.  Focus on research relevant to NOAA's EPIC Program mission and  accelerate improvements in NOAA's Unified Forecast System (UFS)

*Designed for graduate student-designed and performed research projects that demonstrate the scientific significance to NASA.  The graduate student shall have the primary initiative to define the proposed FINESST research project and must be the primary author, with input or supervision from the proposal's Principal Investigator (PI) or mentor. The proposal must present a well-defined research problem/activity and a justification of its scientific significance to NASA. FINESST awards are research grants for up to three years and up to $50K per year.
