Bio Nexia (Paper Presentation)
Description:
BioNexia offers a dynamic platform for students to showcase their innovative research ideas, analytical skills, and scientific insights in the field of Biotechnology. This event encourages young researchers to explore cutting-edge advancements and propose sustainable, eco-friendly solutions addressing real-world challenges.
Participants will present original, theme-based papers focusing on recent developments in Microbial, Computational, Environmental, Food, Nanotechnology and Industrial Biotechnology. The event aims to foster scientific thinking, promote interdisciplinary learning, and inspire innovation aligned with global sustainability goals.
Rules and Regulations:
Participants must submit an abstract (300 words) on or before January 31st.
The minimum number of participants in a team is 4 members.
Paper can be presented in topics Advancements in Environmental Biotechnology, Food Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Biofuels, Industrial Biotechnology, Biopharmaceutical Biotechnology, Microbial Biotechnology and Computational Biotechnology
Power point presentation should be created as per the following instructions within 12-15 slides, Font style - times new romans, Body content-14 size, Heading -16 size.
For each team total 10 minutes will be allocated 7 minutes for presentation followed by 3 minutes for questions and answer session.
Paper must be original and theme-based.
Poster Verse (Poster Presentation)
This event provides a platform for students to present innovative ideas and research in biotechnology. It contribute towards a sustainable and eco-friendly future. Topics may include recent advancements in agricultural, medical, environmental, food and industrial biotechnology.
Rules and Regulations:
Participants may take part individually or in teams of 2–3 members.
The time limit for the poster presentation is 5-7minutes.
The poster must be prepared on an A2-sized sheet.
The decision of the judges will be final.

Xen-V-Thon Rules & Regulations
· Team Size: Each team must consist of 2 to 4 members only. Solo participation is not allowed.
· Presentation Duration: Each team will be given 10 minutes total. Teams must not exceed the allotted time.
8 minutes for presentation ;2 minutes for Q&A with judges
· Presentation format: There must be 6 to 8 slides only. Prescribed template is attached here:
· Originality: The idea, solution, and presentation must be original. Any form of plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification.
· Problem Relevance: The solution must clearly address the following problem statements. Any solution for the problem based on the themes mentioned in Xen-V-Thon is also allowed.
· Team Participation: All team members should actively participate in the presentation or Q&A session.
· Technical Feasibility: The solution should be practically implementable and technically sound.
· Judges’ Decision: The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
· Professional Conduct: Participants must maintain respectful behaviour throughout the event. Any misconduct can lead to disqualification.
Problem Statements
Environmental biotechnology
1. Design a low-cost biofilter using natural or biological materials for removal of pollutants from wastewater.
2. Develop a bio-based solution to reduce household or industrial environmental pollution.
Food biotechnology
1. Create an edible or biodegradable food packaging material using biological or plant-based polymers.
2. Design a simple biotechnological method to reduce microbial contamination in food products.
Nanotechnology
1. Create a nano-coated material to improve food preservation or surface hygiene.
2. Develop a low-cost nano-adsorbent for removal of dyes or pollutants from wastewater.
Biofuels
1. Design a small-scale biogas production model using organic or food waste.
2. Design an eco-friendly biofuel system that converts household waste into usable energy.
Industrial Biotechnology
1. Design a simple biosensor-based system for detection of contamination in industrial environment.
2. Develop or design a low-cost Air Quality Bio-indicator.
Biopharmaceutical Biotechnology
1. Design an in-silico or conceptual approach for identification of drug candidates against a common disease target.
2. Create a prototype or workflow for low-cost production of biopharmaceutical products using biological systems.
Microbial Biotechnology
1. Develop a microbe-based solution for degradation of biodegradable waste.
2. Design a probiotic or beneficial microbial formulation for health or agricultural applications.
Computational Biotechnology
1. Create an AI-Assisted Gene Function Prediction Tool.
2. Develop a personalized Diet-Gene Interaction Analyzer.
