IPL Auction
Step into the shoes of an IPL franchise owner! The IPL Auction at XENVIRON’26 is a thrilling non-technical event where participants get to experience the excitement of bidding, strategizing, and building their dream cricket team. With a fixed budget in hand, teams will compete to outbid each other, balance star players with hidden gems, and craft the ultimate squad. It’s not just about cricket knowledge—it’s about quick thinking, smart planning, and teamwork.
📜 Rules & Guidelines
Team Formation
Each team must consist of 2–4 participants.
Maximum of only 15 players can be taken for bidding for an team.
Budget Allocation
Every team will be given a virtual purse (e.g., ₹50 crores).
Teams must manage their funds wisely throughout the auction.
Auction Process
Players will be announced category-wise (Batsmen, Bowlers, All-rounders, Wicketkeepers).
Bidding starts at a base price and increments will be decided by the auctioneer.
Once the hammer goes down, the player is sold to the highest bidder.
Squad Composition
Each team must complete a squad with a minimum of 11 players.
Teams must include at least:
4 Batsmen
3 Bowlers
2 All-rounders
1 Wicketkeeper
Balance of Indian and overseas players will be specified before the auction.
Time & Conduct
Each bid must be placed within the given time window.
Arguments or misconduct will lead to disqualification.
Winning Criteria
o Each player in the auction will carry career performance points ranging from 2 to 5, assigned beforehand by the organizers.
o After the auction, the total points of all players purchased by a team will be calculated.
o The team with the highest cumulative points will be declared the winner.
In case of a tie, the winner will be decided based on:
o Best budget utilization (least unused purse).
Squad balance (meeting composition requirements).
Decode & Discover
Round 1: Picture Link 🖼
Description:
Participants are shown a series of pictures. They must carefully observe the images and find the logical connection between them to identify the correct answer within the given time.
Rules:
A set of pictures will be displayed to each team
Teams must identify the common link or concept
Discussion within the team is allowed
No mobile phones or external help allowed
Answer must be given within the time limit
Judge’s decision is final Round
Round 2: Sketch & Guess ✏🤔
Description:
One team member draws the given word or clue without using letters or numbers, while the remaining members guess the word before time runs out.
Rules:
Only one participant is allowed to draw
Letters, numbers, symbols, or verbal hints are not allowed
Drawing must represent the given word only
Team must guess within the allotted time
No skipping once the word is given
Correct guess earns points
Round 3: What’s in the Box? 📥📦
Description:
A hidden object is placed inside a box. Teams must identify the object by touching it or using limited clues, without seeing it.
Rules:
Teams are not allowed to see the object
Only touch is permitted
Limited clues may be provided by the coordinator
Only one final answer is allowed
Answer must be given within the time limit
Round 4: Word Whiz 🧩
Description:
One team member gives verbal clues or rapid hints, and the rest of the team must guess the correct word within the given time.
Rules:
Only verbal clues are allowed
The actual word or its parts must not be spoken
Actions and gestures are allowed unless restricted
Multiple guesses are allowed within the time limit
Team with the highest score wins
