Stay in downtown Manchester
Land into Manchester Airport (Airport code: MAN)
You will be met at the airport by a faculty member then we'll take a train into Manchester
If you are already going to be in the UK then please let us know so we can coordinate your arrival into Manchester by train.

Day 1
Llandudno
Train from Manchester to Llandudno, North Wales.
Grab and go lunch purchased at Manchester Piccadilly station
Woosh down a toboggan run as we study conservation of energy.
Start discovering plant life in a botanical garden.
Dinner at Barnacles Fish & Chip

June 3rd 2025
Day 2
Llandudno
Create an Energy, Botany, and Conservation timeline on the beach.
Grab-and-go lunch
Ride the Bus from Llandudno to Deganwy and then walk to Conwy discussing plants and conservation as well as the science of tides.
Optional: we'll finish early enough for you to tour Conwy Castle.

Discover the majestic Cwm Idwal valley and lake.

Carry out experiments at the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) site in Conwy
Explore the connection between chocolate and the topics in the courses at the Llandudno Chocolate Experience.
Walk along the sand dunes and up the Great Orme.
Friday

Breakfast in the car
Drive to Anglesey with a brief stop at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
Packed lunch provided
Find creatures and plants in the rockpools
Dinner included in Treaddur Bay
Visit South Stack for spectacular views and Newborough Forest red squirrel reserve.
Travel back to Llandudno

Determine the age of ancient Yew trees.

Take a train up a mountain to a cafe on the summit... that's the way to by a mountaineer.

Study how Sun light can be used to produce electricity and used to heat water.
Grab-and-go lunch
Make your own electricity generator then take it to the beach and connect it into a wind turbine and produce you're own electricity.

Visit the wonderful Center for Alternative Technology in mid-Wales.
Lunch on site
How does the movement of water produce electricity in a hydroelectric plant? We'll discover that with an experiment on a small scale. Then we'll tour a commercial scale hydroelectric plant.
Learn about Britain's Zero-Carbon effort.
Dinner included.

Go underground into copper mines that are thousands of years old.
Grab-and-go lunch provided
Take the train to Chester.
Observe pollinators in a city park and take a conservation walk around the Roman city.

Visit the birth place of the Industrial Revolution in the English countryside; Ironbridge.

Experience the pace of life on the canals.

Continue to learn the British perspective of the slave trade and how it relates to the course themes by visiting the International Slavery Museum at the magnificent Albert Dock.

How were plants used in medicine during the time of Florence Nightingale? We'll visit the Old Operating Theater to find out.

Underground train to Kew Gardens
The Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew are the largest botanical gardens in the world and is an amazing place to discover plant life.
Lunch provided in Kew Gardens
Train back into town.

London has some incredible museums. Explore the topics we've covered in the program at the Natural History Museum and Science Museum.
