@DavPeMa Yes, you're right. Kontakt 7 was released only a couple of weeks ago. The black screen issue was already a known issue with older graphic cards that didn't have Direct X 3D 11.1, but we found out that it needed Feature Levels 11.0 or it would not work, this is why this information was added in the article that @Monochrome shared. Sure, it's not the best journey ever. And yes, you shouldn't have to do a cmd file either, but if this information can help some users to make it work until a better solution or a fix is found, it's worth to share. I already forwarded your comments regarding the installer.

F1 to F4 switch on some stuff like the virtual keyboard, browser, and the master section but your window is really totally empty except the upper file and help button. So i guess it is no problem with libraries, i think it's a graphics card/driver problem. Can you pls add your system specs, i guess you use windows?

Same problem here on a Lenovo W520 with NVIDIA 2000M / Intel graphics card running Windows 10. DirectX Version is 12, NVIDIA Driver is 390.65. OpenGL version (according to OpenGL Extensions Viewer) is 4.6. So to me it looks like the official system requirements are fulfilled. The .cmd file trick didn't work for me.

To Monochrome. Thanks for the suggestion and I don't what to sound ungrateful, but I'm not a computer programmer and shouldn't be expected to be one. I've no idea how to create a .cmd file (whatever that is).

to make a .cmd file, open up Notepad and paste in the code from bob, then save it with .cmd as extension (make sure that "Save as type" is set to "All files"). This will start Kontakt with OpenGL instead of DirectX. I've attached a premade one to my post below.

I ran the .cmd file and it worked however, I primarily use Maschine as my DAW and it still will open with a blank black screen. If I'm not mistaken, isn't there a way to include a commands within a shortcut prior to opening a standalone application in windows? What a bummer, was really looking forward to this update.

But I guess just a further customer service point of view point to be made as your profile states you're customer care I assume you work for NI. You've mentioned feature levels. Nothing I've seen has mentioned that until now. But realistically, as the information is available to the dxdiag tool then I would expect that information to be available to the installer which should find that stuff out and then tell me that the software isn't compatible rather than just installing and not working. Same with the other comments about making a .cmd file. None of that should be necessary. It should either install and work or tell me my hardware/software isn't up to it. I don't mind being told that, especially with an older machine. If that is the problem then I shouldn't have to go through all this aggro to find that out.

Use the command method the person up above mentioned however instead of using the plugin location use your daw and run the command always as administrator, it worked for fruity loops, hope it helps you with your daw

If you have set QuickTime Player as the app to open the file type you have selected in the Finder, all you need to do is press RETURN.

Apple apps such as Photos, iMovie, Safari, Keynote, and QuickTime Player work with many media formats. Some apps prefer specific formats, but most formats work in most apps without additional software. Older or specialized formats might not work as expected if your device, its operating system, or the app you're using doesn't support the format.

Install all available software updates for your Mac and software updates for your iPhone or iPad. After updating, if you don't have an app that supports the older or specialized media format used by the file, search the internet or App Store for an app that does. If you know the name of the media format, include it in your search.

I quit Handbrake and still the problem persisted. My guess is that Handbrake isn't releasing the QuickTime video codecs it accesses for export tasks and so QuickTime Player fails to execute these save/export tasks, as a result. Of course, there may be other applications interfering for different users (for example, Apple Photos) but at least the above scenario is repeatable.

Then again, perhaps Handbrake does release the 'export' codec and that, for some reason, QuickTime Player isn't clever enough to re-establish a connection with these resources. This might not be precisely how these things operate (i.e. codec access), but that's my take.

mp4 videos that, when first purchased or received, play just fine in QuickTime Player. But at random lose their icon that reflects the content - to a generic mp4/video icon -and when double-clicked - returns the message that the file contains some media which isn't compatible with QuickTime Player... IF you "continue" -it opens without video -only audio.

Files that have worked a dozen times or more - just suddenly stop working - no modifications to the file - Its as if either QuickTime is confused... or the file is corrupted. But there is no sign of corruption -and other software still opens the files just fine.

Hi everyone, I have Mathematica 11.3.0 and Wolfram CDF Player App 11.3.0 installed on my MacBook Pro running Mojave. When I create CDF files for my students I like to open them in the player app to better see what my students will see when they open them. But for some time now whenever I open a CDF file it always opens in Mathematica even if I change the file's default app in Finder's Get Info window. And CDF files do not show the CDF icon like they used to. How can I fix this? Greg

I had a quick moment to study this behavior for myself, and found that setting "Open With" and "Change All" in the "Get Info" dialog works as expected, with one caveat: if Mathematica is already running, the CDF will instead open in that. It's simply one of the launch services rules we follow since Mathematica and Player have to operate interchangeably. I.e., the behavior in response to "Whether to launch a new instance of the application, even if another instance is already running" per Apple's developer LSCConcepts documentation.

As for the icons not displaying, you might search for "reset LaunchServices" and see if that helps. If you continue to see problems with both of these issues, our tech support folks should probably get involved and gather more detail on the specifics.

As a player who loves to bring all my amazing units, I did write all 6 lists. I mostly stuck with a well-rounded list of 60 infantry, lots of Cadian officers, Scout Sentinels, a Rogal Dorn, Earthshaker Carriages, a Thunderbolt, and in the larger games my Marauder Destroyer. I think this was a good balance between the best and some average units for the Astra Militarum codex but also some of my favorite models I have built and painted.

6. Do you think you will go back next year? If so is there anything you would do differently?

There is no way I am missing 2024. Chris weaves such an amazing story and runs such a smooth and fun event. The players as well were phenomenal.
