Seigo-kai Karate was introduced in India on 1st September 1980 thru the formation of Calcutta Martial Arts Club at 13/1A, Govt. Place East, Calcutta - 700 069. Rebati Ranjan Raha had been to Japan for training in Karate for 6 months in the year 1979 & on his return, he established this Training Center under support of Mr Elmore Maurice (the then President of West Bengal Judo Association) & few others
To give more impetus an organization in the name & style of ‘Seigo-ryu Karate-do, India’ was formed in the year 1985 with Head Quarter at Calcutta. In the year 2002 the name was changed to ‘Seigo-kai Karate-do Association of India’.
At present more than 16000 students both men & women are being trained under 47 recognized training centers in different parts of our country of which 14231 are registered with us.
Its main objects to develop the mind and body of the students like any other sports and to create a disciplinary mentality among the students which is highly necessary in our daily life.
