Bringing the team data to help drive the conversation and insight in the retrospective is a great way of helping the team find a way forwards. Being able to ask the right questions to the team will also help drive the understanding of what is holding them back from delivering and what will need to change to enable better value delivered sooner.
Frank, a Scrum Master in a large Finance Org shares an example with us below:
During the sprint retrospective, I find it helps if you plan the session and imagine the journey you want to take the team on. From there you can identify what data is going to help the team understand where issues maybe and get their insight into the data with questions ready that will help them explore the problem further rather than just jump to the first solution that anyone comes up with. Try to get an equal voice in the room and if possible make interaction possible in different ways, not just speaking as not all of the team will be confident speakers all of the time. Try to make sure everyone is heard if they are comfortable to share.
