What we do
What we do
Rural women’s and men’s different tasks and responsibilities in food production and service provision, which may result in different knowledge, needs, priorities, and concerns over the environment and natural resource use. WiSDOM assesses the gender-differentiated environmental impacts (climate change, soil destruction, water scarcity, sanitation, biodiversity loss, and energy) and uses gender equality as well as complementarity for achieving a sustainable resource use.
Pratical actions of WiSDOM association focus on two major directions:
1) practical application of scientific research;
2) demonstration actions include on-site solutions which are sustainable, affordable and replicable in the field of water, sanitation, waste management, sustainable energy, soil restoration and biodiversity conservation.
Through these practical actions, WiSDOM not only promotes sustainable use of natural resources but also brings welfare to the local communities.
WiSDOM believes that strengthening capacity and collaboration with local public authorities is vital, this having a high potential of change.
WiSDOM offers trainings and exchange knowledge with Local Public Authorities on key domains of sustainable resource use (water resources, sanitation, waste management, sustainable energy, sustainable agriculture and biodiversity). WiSDOM evaluates the performance achieved by LPA, based on the following indicators: the number of local action plans developed, the number of activities initiated and their extent in the field of sustainability, the number of beneficiaries of the implemented activities and the amount of funding obtained.
